Everton target Steven N'Zonzi was in London on Tuesday as he prepares a departure from Sevilla.

The former Stoke City midfielder travelled to the capital to visit his son with Sevilla's permission while representatives continue to make contacts with Premier League and Italian clubs over a January sale.

Sportsmail revealed on Saturday how Everton are monitoring developments as manager Sam Allardyce looks to strengthen the spine of his new side and add a left-back.

Steven N'Zonzi has admitted he wants to leave Sevilla amid interest from the Premier League

Sevilla midfielder Steven N'Zonzi has recently attracted interest from Everton and Arsenal

N'Zonzi said: ''My future is clearly elsewhere than in Seville. The only thing that disappoints me is the manner in which this is ending.'

Talking to France Football, he added: 'I'm indeed in London, but it's got nothing to do with a transfer or football. I've come to see my son who lives here and to spend some time with him. As you can see, it's not a question of signing for Arsenal or anywhere else.'

N'Zonzi fell out with coach Eduardo Berizzo when he was substituted in their 3-3 draw with Liverpool and has been left out of squads since. His buy out clause is £35.2million though Everton would hope to strike a deal closer to £25m.

The midfielder will likely be sold in January with Arsenal, Everton and Juventus all interested

N'Zonzi has been left out of Sevilla's matchday squad against Maribor on Wednesday night

Sevilla chairman Jose Castro said: 'His situation is due to a technical issue with the coaches and as with all the technical issues, he can change it. He travelled to London to visit his son with our permission.

'There aren't any offers to sign N'Zonzi. I can't talk about clauses or prices if we don't have an offer. We respect the decision of our coaches, he is training with teammates but currently he isn't playing.'

Arsenal and Juventus have held interest in N'Zonzi too though Juventus are working hard to sign Emre Can from Liverpool.
