City will be without their Spanish playmaker David Silva for the clash, who has not travelled to Ukraine.

The Spaniard, who scored the late winner in City's victory over West Ham on Sunday, is being rested for the Group F game in Kharkiv amid injury concerns over the player.

‘David had problems in the last minutes, we made a test after the game,' Guardiola said at a press conference in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

'I don't know if he'll be able to play (against Manchester United on) Sunday. He stayed to recover in Manchester. The others are all here.’

Kevin De Bruyne was also absent from the squad which left Manchester on Monday afternoon as he is suspended for the game.

Both players will hope to return for the derby clash at Old Trafford on Sunday, but Silva's situation is a little more touch-and-go.

The only other notable omissions from the travelling party were injured defenders Benjamin Mendy and John Stones.

Youngsters Phil Foden, Brahim Diaz, Tosin Adarabioyo and Daniel Grimshaw were included by manager Pep Guardiola.
