Gabriel Jesus has set the Premier League alight since joining Manchester City but he used to make a name for himself for the wrong reasons.

The 20-year-old, who has scored 10 goals for City so far this season, has admitted he used to set off firecrackers and put them through letterboxes on Christmas Day.

It appears Jesus used to hang out with Mario Balotelli's mates as the Italian also made headlines when his friends set off fireworks in his £3million rented mansion.

Jesus, speaking in an interview with GOAL! magazine, said of how he used to celebrate the festive season: 'Well, sometimes we used to buy each other new clothes and trainers for Christmas and at around 5pm we would open the presents and wear them all.

'Then we used to go out on the streets and set off some firecrackers in other people's letterboxes! We used to like setting firecrackers off everywhere.'

Jesus wont be able to cause trouble this Christmas as the Manchester City striker will be preparing to face Newcastle on December 27.

Premier League leaders Manchester City, like their rivals, face a busy festive schedule with games coming thick and fast during the next month.

After facing Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday evening, City take on rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford in a crucial match in the Premier League title race.

City will also go up against Swansea, Tottenham, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Crystal Palace in the Premier League before the end of the year.

They will also go head-to-head with Leicester City in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
