Joe Hart has been axed by West Ham manager David Moyes for the visit of Chelsea to the London Stadium this weekend with Adrian set to start in goal.

Moyes has been considering sticking with Adrian after the Spanish goalkeeper’s fine performance against Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Hart was left out of the 2-1 loss to City because he could not face his parent club.

Being left out against Chelsea comes as a blow to Hart in the long-term as he fights for a place at next summer’s World Cup with England.

Moyes made his final decision at Rush Green following consultation with his staff.

West Ham wanted Adrian to sign an extension at the start of the season, when Hart was brought in on loan, but he has not put pen to paper.

It comes after the Hammers triggered their option in the summer to keep the keeper until 2019. Crystal Palace continue to be admirers of Adrian.
