Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud looks poised to leave the Emirates Stadium when the transfer window reopens in January with a loan move on the cards.

The Gunners target man has endured a frustrating season so far and has yet to start a Premier League game following the summer arrival of Alexandre Lacazette.

Giroud's lack of game time is negatively affecting his chances of making the France squad for next year's World Cup in Russia.

In a bid to keep his international career on track, Giroud is believed to have reluctantly accepted that he needs to seek regular football elsewhere.

But he and his wife Jennifer — who is currently pregnant with their third child — do not intend to go far and ideally want to remain in London.

'Olivier does not want to disturb and uproot his family,' The Mirror quotes a source as saying. 'Ideally, he wants to stay but he needs football – there are options in London for him.'

Those options are likely to be provided by Crystal Palace and West Ham United who have been alerted by the news of Giroud's availability.

Giroud has scored three goals in 12 substitute appearances in the Premier League this term.

The 31-year-old has been a regular in Arsenal's Europa League campaign, netting three times in six outings.
