The fallout from Sunday's explosive Manchester derby has seeped into the world of music after Liam Gallagher aimed a few barbs at Manchester United fans on Twitter.

City moved 11 points clear of their neighbours at the top of the Premier League with a 2-1 win at Old Trafford thanks to goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi.

There then followed an astonishing bust-up in the tunnel after the match, involving 30 players and staff from both sides with Jose Mourinho riled by City's dressing room celebrations.

The furore over the incident has caused the former Oasis singer to take to Twitter and criticise those who think City should not have celebrated in the manner that they did, in particular United fans.

He tweeted: 'People banging on about not being able to celebrate after the Derby sit down and shut the f**k up you beige c**s as you were LG x'.

Gallagher went on to call United manager Mourinho a 'moaning c**t' when his past behaviour on the touchline was put to him.

When one user told him to 'get back in your box d******d' he replied: 'Who you calling a d******d ya red c**t'.

Gallagher's complaints continued an Oasis theme surrounding the derby after his estranged brother, Noel, was a guest pundit on Sky Sports for the coverage of the match.

Noel goaded United fans when he announced: 'It's great to be sat beside a legend of the game (points to Souness)... and Gary Neville.'
