Bournemouth 0-4 Liverpool: Mohamed Salah follows in the footsteps of Ian Rush as visitors establish themselves as the ultimate fast starters - THINGS YOU MISSED

  • Liverpool's opining goal came centimetres from going out of play

  • Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain can't hide his amazement after Salah's solo goal
  • No side has scored more first half goals than Jurgen Klopp's team this season
  • Gary Neville incorrectly predicts the visitors will let a three-goal lead slip again

Liverpool got back to winning ways as they cruised past Bournemouth at Dean Court on Sunday afternoon.

Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren and Roberto Firmino got the goals on a day where the three points were never in doubt for Jurgen Klopp's team.

Here, Sportsmail brings you a round-up of all the things you may have missed from the Reds' dominant victory.

Fine margins

Dejan Lovren doubled his side's lead with a diving header but credit for the goal really has to go to Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilians showed great desire to reach the bouncing ball at the back post and hook it back into the danger zone when it looked to be going out of play.

Replays showed there was a matter of inches involved. Brilliant from the forward.

Salah strikes again

Mohamed Salah has made a brilliant start to his Liverpool career after joining the club in the summer and continued his hot streak on Sunday.

The Egyptian scored his team's third goal with a fine left-footed finish after beating two defenders with mesmerising close control.

The strike was a landmark one for the forward as he became the first Liverpool player to net 20 goals in a season before Christmas since Ian Rush in the 1986-87 campaign.

He is also the first Premier League player to reach the milestone in all competitions this season.

And he gets the plaudits...

Salah's latest moment of magic saw fans of all teams rush to heap praise on the 25-year-old, who has proven to be the signing of the summer.

One account issued a light-hearted plea for supporters to pledge two pounds a month to save defenders like Charlie Daniels from being torn apart.

Another shared a photo of the player sitting alone, writing 'Salah having lunch with all the summer signings etter than him'.

There was also a general consensus that the Egyptian is 'the new Arjen Robben' after another fine goal scored with his left after cutting in from the right, something the Dutch winger is renowned for.

Ox blown away

Salah's solo effort didn't just have fans salivating.

Fellow new boy Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain couldn't hide his amazement as he celebrated the goal with his team-mate.

Television cameras showed the pair share a quick embrace before Oxlade-Chamberlain could be seen shaking his head in disbelief at what he had just witnessed.

Fast starters

Jurgen Klopp's team may let themselves down when it comes to defending at times but there is no doubt they are as good as anyone when it comes to going forward.

The visitors established a deserved 3-0 lead by the break seeing them go level with league leaders Manchester City on the most amount of first-half Premier League goals scored this season.

Their tally of 19 first-half goals is more than 10 of the other 19 clubs in the division have netted in total.

Not this time, Gary

Gary Neville has built a reputation as an entertaining mid-game tweeter and the Manchester United legend attempted to tempt fate once more during Sunday's Premier League encounter.

Neville took to Twitter to reply to a post about Liverpool's third goal, predicting that the game would end 3-3.

The former defender did the same last month when the Reds were beating Sevilla 3-0 at half-time and the game went on to finish 3-3.

Fortunately for the visiting side, history did not repeat itself.
