Everton to offer Arsenal forward Theo Walcott a fresh start in January as Sam Allardyce looks to strengthen squad

Everton are ready to offer Theo Walcott a chance to revive his World Cup dream with a move to Goodison Park in January.

Sam Allardyce has enquired about the out-of-favour Arsenal forward, who captained Arsenal to victory in the Carabao Cup against West Ham on Tuesday night.

Walcott is yet to start a Premier League game this season and has 18 months left on a contract worth £140,000 a week.

Earlier this month, Arsene Wenger claimed he was unwilling to sell the pacey 28-year-old, although that could change if Walcott pushes for a fresh start.

Allardyce is keen to add another attacker to his squad in January and sees the former Southampton star, who has only come off the bench three times in the top flight this term, as an attractive option.

Everton's new boss will be given funds to strengthen his side next month after making an impressive start to life on Merseyside with four wins and a draw in all competitions since replacing caretaker David Unsworth. 

Also high on Allardyce's list of priorities is midfielder Steven N'Zonzi, who appears certain to leave Sevilla after falling out with club chiefs.

The former Stoke star has attracted interest from Juventus, while Arsenal and West Ham are among the clubs to have watched him this season.

Allardyce, however, is increasingly confident of being reunited with N'Zonzi, who he worked alongside during his time as Blackburn manager.

Everton are keen to seal a loan deal for the France international, with an option to buy him permanently for around £25million next summer.
