Huddersfield agree £14m deal to sign Norwich City winger Alex Pritchard who is due for a medical at the club

  • Alex Pritchard has secured a move back to the Premier League for £14million
  • Huddersfield agreed the fee and the star is due for a medical at the club

Alex Pritchard is due for a medical at Huddersfield Town on Thursday after Norwich accepted an £14million bid.

The former Spurs forward is set for a move to the Premier League after the two clubs agreed an initial £12m fee, rising by another £2m dependent on bonuses.

David Wagner has moved for the winger to bolster his side in the battle for Premier League survival.

Norwich were reluctant to sell the 24-year-old, rejecting an initial offer, but Huddersfield returned with significantly improved terms.

Pritchard moved to Carrow Road from Tottenham for £8m in August 2016 and scored eight goals in 43 games, but saw his start to this season blighted by injury.

He has shown good form on his return to convince Wagner that he is worth the sizeable sum.

Daniel Farke is set to bank the cash now and then strengthen his team in the summer.

The 24-year-old had been a target for the Premier League outfit earlier this month but they have increased their bid to secure their man.

He will provide a creative spark for David Wagner's side who have scored just 18 goals since their return to the top-flight.

Despite an ankle injury forcing the winger to miss the start of Norwich's campaign, recent performances had underlined his importance to the side who were already missing a cutting-edge.

He has made eight appearances since his return to full fitness and played an important role as the Yellows held Chelsea to a draw in the FA Cup.

Pritchard has scored one goal and provided two assists since returning in late November.
