Swansea City have made enquiries for AC Milan striker Andre Silva after being rebuffed in an attempt to sign Kevin Gameiro from Atletico Madrid.

The 22-year-old Portugal international only joined Milan in June for £32million.

Silva has scored six goals for Milan this season but all of them have come in the Europa League.

Carlos Carvalhal is keen to add firepower to his ranks as he aims to steer Swansea clear of relegation.


Gameiro had been his prime target but Atletico are reluctant to sell in this window, while the Frenchman would prefer a top six club.

This has forced a shift towards Silva, who arrived from Porto as part of the Serie A side's major overhaul in the summer.

Regular football has proven hard to come by though with Croatian Nikola Kalinic preferred to Silva in the league and the emergence of Patrick Cutrone also hindering his chances.

The south Wales side are currently rock bottom of the Premier League with just 17 points from their opening 23 matches.

They face a tough task to stay up, and have Liverpool and Arsenal in their next two league fixtures while star striker Wilfried Bony has only managed three goals in 15 appearances.
