Theo Walcott passed his Everton medical with flying colours on Wednesday morning - and then pretended to fall down the stairs at Finch Farm.

The 28-year-old's £20million move from Arsenal was officially announced at 5pm after he signed a three-and-a-half-year contract worth over £110,000 a week.

And despite making the tough decision to leave his comfort zone and head north to Merseyside, Walcott proved he has not lost his sense of humour earlier in the day.

The 28-year-old took to Instagram to give fans a glimpse of his first day at the club's training base with a series of behind-the-scenes photos and videos.

Walcott shared one image of his flexibility being tested during his medical and another of him being checked out by a member of Everton's staff.

He also posed in his new home kit inside a dressing room at Finch Farm and took a smiling selfie in front of a large club badge.

And after being passed fit to complete his move to Goodison Park, the England winger pretended to fall down a staircase before bursting out laughing.

Luckily for manager Sam Allardyce, new boy Walcott is ready and available for Saturday's home game with West Brom as he looks to stop a run of four straight defeats in all competitions.

'I'm very ambitious and I've come here because I want the club to push to the next level,' Walcott said after leaving Arsenal following a 12-year stay in north London.

'With the players that have come in, I feel like the next level can be reached. I'm very excited to be starting a new chapter and I felt this was the right place for me to be.'

Walcott also shared a short clip of himself being filmed in front of a green screen and a video of him watching Everton's budding young stars in action at Finch Farm.

'The manager is very ambitious and I feel like the club is going in the right direction,' he added.

'Everton is a club with a great history. The fans are always passionate, they're great and I always used to find it very tough playing here. The club has won trophies but I want them to win trophies now.

'The manager is very hungry and it's just what I need. I've had a couple of chats with him and straightaway I felt that hunger and that desire that he wanted from me. I need that and I wanted that. I want to be part of something.'
