Everton have made further enquiries for Chelsea left back Baba Rahman and Crystal Palace's Patrick van Aanholt.
Manager Sam Allardyce is keen to add another left back on loan to cover for Leighton Baines.
Schalke are in pole position for fit again Rahman and the 23-year-old is open to a return to the Bundesliga.

However, Inter Milan have also made enquiries in recent days for the Ghana international.
Chelsea will let him go once they have Emerson Palmieri secured from Roma and will also allow Kenedy to join Newcastle United.
Van Aanholt, 29, has played for Allardyce previously at Sunderland and Palace who have an interest in Everton striker Oumar Niasse.
Everton, meanwhile, retain an interest in Lille defender Adama Soumaoro, who can play across the back four.
