A TV channel run by Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke is to remove all blood sports after a backlash
The channel, MyOutdoor TV, had featured programmes involving big game being hunted
Among the programmes on the channel were shows where big-game animals, including elephants and lions, were hunted and killed. Some were left to bleed to death while being stalked.
After a fierce backlash the channel announced on Friday that it was removing all blood-sport content, at the request of Kroenke.
A statement from the TV channel's owners said: 'Outdoor Sportsman Group is dedicated to serving audiences around the world interested in the outdoors. In the past few days, there has been significant public attention to a small portion of programming on our MyOutdoorTV app that contains content associated with hunting certain big game animals.
Fans had threatened to boycott the Gunners until Kroenke made changes to MOTV
Shows depicting bloodsports and big game hunting will now not be shown on the channel
'While many on both sides of this issue have made their voices heard, and this content is only available through paid subscriptions.
'Stan Kroenke has directed us to remove all content related to those animals in light of the public interest.'
The channel will continue to broadcast fishing, cooking and hunting shows, but none with any footage of blood sports.
Kroenke, 70, has been the majority shareholder of the Gunners since 2011 having first bought into the club in 2007.
