Norwich have promised to ban anyone found to have racially abused boxer Anthony Ogogo during the Carabao Cup defeat at Arsenal.

London 2012 Olympic bronze medallist Ogogo was at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night to support the Canaries.

The 28-year-old middleweight grew up in Lowestoft and had a spell in Norwich's youth squad.

He used a friend's ticket and was sitting in the Arsenal end as he applauded his team off the pitch.

'I did get racially abused for cheering,' he wrote on Twitter after the match. 'Worst of all it was by a Norwich fan who thought I was Arsenal. Utterly disgusted by that behaviour.'

Norwich fans packed out the Emirates Stadium away end with almost 9,000 in attendance. There is no indication that any of the fans pictured were involved in the alleged racial abuse

Norwich contacted Ogogo, who is planning a boxing comeback after an eye injury, and said in a statement: 'We have a zero-tolerance policy on racism. Any supporter found to be guilty of discriminatory abuse will be banned indefinitely and face possible criminal investigation.'
