Mario Balotelli

Liverpool forward Mario Balotelli could be fined by the club for swapping shirts with Real Madrid defender Pepe at half-time.

The Italy international, who continued to misfire for Liverpool, swapped shirts with the Madrid centre-back as they headed down the tunnel following a disastrous first-half for the Merseysiders.

And Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said: "It's the first I've heard of it but I don't like that. It's something that doesn't happen here, it shouldn't happen here.

"We had a case of a player doing that last season which I dealt with and if that's the case again I'll deal with it again."

Radamel Falcao

Former Reds star Dominic Matteo claims his old club should have signed Radamel Falcao rather than Balotelli to replace Luis Suarez.

Uruguay superstar Suarez departed Anfield during the summer to complete a dream £75m move to Barcelona.

Matteo claims Rodgers made a mistake splashing out £16m on Balotelli.

"Liverpool should have tried to sign someone like Falcao. We had the money," he said.

"Liverpool have not bought particularly well. People thought signing Mario Balotelli for £16m was a good buy, but he hasn't produced [the goods]."

Ezequiel Lavezzi

Liverpool will revive their bid to sign PSG forward Ezequiel Lavezzi in January.

Rodgers was keen to land the Argentina star in the summer, but Liverpool chiefs failed to negotiate a fee with the big spending French champions.

However reports suggest the Northern Irishman will renew his pursuit of Lavezzi in the new year.

It is understood PSG want around £30m to allow the 29-year-old to leave.

Arsenal are reportedly also keeping tabs on Lavezzi.
