WATCHED: Karim Bellarabi is being scouted by a number of the Premier League's top clubs [AFP]

According to The Mirror, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham all sent scouts to Germany on Wednesday to witness Bellarabi in action during Leverkusen's 2-0 win over Zenit Saint Petersburg in the Champions League.

The Berlin-born winger has gradually worked his way to the top of German football.

He joined Werder Bremen at the age of eight but moved to FC Oberneuland for three years to continue his footballing education.

Bellarabi then opted to sign for Eintracht Braunschweig in 2008 and slowly established himself in the third division club's first team.

His form attracted plenty of interest and he completed a switch to Bundesliga giants Leverkusen in 2011.

Injuries have hindered his progress and he was sent out on loan back to Braunschweig last season before cementing his first team place this campaign.

Bellarabi scored the fastest goal in Bundesliga history in August and has earned two caps for Germany.
