January Transfer Window

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insists he will not be making any signings during the January transfer window.

But he also confirmed that none of the current squad will be leaving Stamford Bridge in the new year.

"We have a short squad but we've got good players, some younger, some older, but the squad is very, very good," Mourinho told talkSPORT.

"Our project is to start and finish the season with the same group of players, so there will be nobody to leave and nobody to come in either."

Double Signing

Chelsea could end up shelling out a staggering £204m for Spain duo Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas.

That's according to latest figures crunched by Goal.

The Blues splashed out £32m to sign Costa from Atletico Madrid and another £30m to add Fabregas to their ranks from Barcelona.

And if the figures are to be believed, the pair will end up costing Chelsea an incredible £204m if they see out their contracts and hit all their performance related bonuses.

Cesc Fabregas

Chelsea midfielder Fabregas reckons the next few weeks are critical to his side's chances of securing success this season.

Fabregas helped Chelsea book their place in the Capital One Cup semi-finals with a 3-1 victory over Derby last night.

He said: "These kinds of games are always difficult. It is probably their biggest game of the season and we have to be up for it.

"I'm enjoying playing in this team, we have a very strong squad and we want to go for everything," he said.

"We can get better, 100% and we know that. Everyone is really focussed and professional but the next two or three weeks are very important."
