The 28-year-old scored the opening goal with an assured finish in the 5-0 rout at the Emirates before setting up Mesut Ozil for the Gunners' second.

It was the forward's fifth goal in his last six league games, taking his tally to six since returning from a broken leg in November.

And Wenger believes Giroud has improved significantly as a player since his injury.

“He’s much more focused, technically he has improved, his feet have improved, his movement has improved and he has a big presence in the game,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.

“It’s no coincidence that when he comes back, you feel strong.”
