Silva, 22, has joined the Championship side on loan for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

"Bolton Wanderers are pleased to confirm the signing of Wellington Silva on a season-long loan deal," a statement on Bolton's website read.

"The Brazilian Under-21 international joins the club from Premier League side Arsenal having spent the last five seasons on loan in Spain - enjoying stints with Levante, CD Alcoyano, SD Ponferradina, Real Murcia and UD Almeria.

"Capable of playing as both a winger or a second striker, the 22-year-old started his career in his homeland with Fluminense before officially joining Arsenal in January 2010.

"Prior to that he was a member of the Brazil side that competed in 2009 Under-17s World Cup alongside Neymar and Philippe Coutinho.

"Silva will wear the number 22 jersey for the duration of his stay at Macron Stadium and goes straight into Neil Lennon’s first team squad for Saturday’s home clash with Nottingham Forest."

Silva, who has represented Brazil's Under-21 side twice, is held in high regard by Gunners chief Arsene Wenger. And the Frenchman has backed the former Fluminense star to shine in the Championship.

“He’s a creative, tricky, quick player,” Wenger said.

“He’s absolutely stunning to watch and I believe Bolton will be surprised by his quality.

“I believe he will do extremely well because he has gained a lot of experience in Spain, he has come back to England and I am confident he will have a big impact in the Championship.”
