EXIT: Terry is set to leave Chelsea this summer

Terry revealed the Blues will not be offering him a contract following the 5-1 FA Cup win at MK Dons yesterday.

And Arsenal boss Wenger said Terry was a natural when it came to coaching, having seen first hand his abilities.

“I believe Terry was not only a great player - still is - but also a great coach on the pitch as well,” said Wenger.

“He was here once at London Colney with the under 21s and the way he coached the team was marvellous. He was a real leader.

“The guys who last a long time have something special. He was part of the cohesion in Chelsea.

“I see a coaching career in his future certainly. He will remain in football.”

But Wenger ruled out making a move for Terry when he became free, saying: “I’m not interested in John Terry, he’s at the end of his career and if he wants to play longer I’m sure he will play Chelsea.

Wenger also revealed Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky had suffered yet another injury setback after making his first appearance of the season, coming on as a sub in the 71st minute in the 2-1 win against Burnley on Saturday.

“Rosicky has a thigh problem, how deep the problem we don’t know, he has a scan today and we will know more tonight,” added Wenger.

Arsenal face Southampton at home tomorrow and Wenger said his players were desperate to make amends for the 4-0 away defeat to them on Boxing Day.

“Southampton gave us a tough and rough time and it gives us an opportunity to put that right,” he added. “It is a big period in the season.”
