INCOMING: Xhaka's deal is closing in

Arsenal are expected to announce the signing of Granit Xhaka within the next 48 hours, according to the Mirror.

They claim the deal is agreed and the midfielder has passed his medical ahead of his £30m move from Borussia Monchengladbach.

The move was rushed through at the weekend to allow the midfielder to join up with the Switzerland squad for their Euro 2016 preparations.

Jack Wilshere has urged Arsene Wenger to play him in the middle of midfield.

The midfielder has played out wide under the Frenchman but claims he's relishing the opportunity to play centrally with England.

"With Arsenal I’ve been playing out wide, which is not me," said Wilshere.

"I’m not a wide man, but Roy seems to have faith in me in the middle, so I’m happy with that and I like to play anywhere in the middle."

Henrikh Mkhitaryan's contract talks with Borussia Dortmund have stalled, according to German outlet Kicker.

The attacker, linked with the Gunners and Chelsea, is set to enter the final 12 months of his deal with the German giants.

But the 27-year-old has demanded a release clause to be activated if current boss Thomas Tuchel leaves the club or is fired.

And Wenger is on alert with Dortmund reportedly unwilling to meet the demand.
