SPEND SPEND SPEND: Arsene Wenger is ready to go big this summer

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been heavily criticised this season despite his side securing a second-placed finish in the Premier League.

The Frenchman is expected to spend heavily this summer to hit back as he goes into what could be his last season in north London.

And The Mirror report that he is eager to complete a string of deals.

A £30m deal for Granit Xhaka will be Wenger’s first piece of business this summer.

It is understood that the Swiss midfielder’s arrival from Borussia Monchengladbach will be confirmed before the end of this week.

The Mirror also claim that Wenger is determined to land a top class striker and centre half.

Arsenal are keen on strikers such as Alvaro Morata and Mauro Icardi while potential defender deals could include Medhi Benatia and Kontas Manolas.

Wenger is then looking to complete his £80m splurge with moves for a trio of youngsters.

The Arsenal chief is keen on deals for Maxi Romero, Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney.
