Manchester United could beat Chelsea to the signing of Romelu Lukaku, according to BBC reporter Simon Stone.

He tweeted: “Romelu Lukaku is and has always been, a summer target for @ManUtd.

“Seems more gettable now than previously. As with Rooney, no deal done yet.”

Starsport understands United are trying to use Wayne Rooney as bait to secure a deal for Lukaku and beat the Blues in the process.

Jose Mourinho previously sold the striker to Everton when he was in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have revived their interest in Swansea striker Fernando Llorente.

The Times claim Antonio Conte is considering the Spaniard as backup to his first-choice forwards for next season.

Llorente was previously linked with Chelsea when Diego Costa was eyeing a move to the Chinese Super League in January.

And Costa has been told by Conte he will be sold this summer and has no future at the Blues.

Chelsea’s top target is Lukaku but Llorente would provide experience as a backup option.

Inter Milan are eyeing a raid for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

Blues boss Conte is expected to take a close look at him in pre-season before making a decision.

But the 21-year-old centre-back could be allowed to leave if he fails to impress.

And Corriere dello Sport suggest he could be testing himself in Serie A for Inter this season.

His first-team opportunities at Chelsea could be even more limited if they complete the signing of Antonio Rudiger.
