The Brazilian midfielder, a cult hero on the Kop, has joined the Serie A giants on a £5m deal and hooked up with his new team-mates in Italy today.

As well as meeting the likes of Jordan Lukaku (Manchester United star Romelu’s younger brother), Marco Parolo and boss Angelo Peruzzi, the 30-year-old took time to greet fans, even posing with a youngster wearing a Liverpool shirt.

Lucas had been the Reds’ longest-serving player, but his place is now taken by Jon Flanagan, who signed his first senior contract in January 2011, a few months before Jordan Henderson arrived.
