Antonio Conte has targeted a move for the Italy international, who would provide competition for Victor Moses at wing-back and Pedro in attack.

Candreva only joined Inter from Lazio last summer and appeared set to stay at the San Siro.

But, according to CalcioMercato, an offer worth around £17.9m could be enough to convince the Serie A giants to sell.

It is claimed there are two key factors behind Inter's decision.

The team's new manager - Luciano Spalletti - is reportedly not a fan of wingers who hug the touchline.

CalcioMercato also claim that selling Candreva would allow the club to keep Manchester United target Ivan Perisic.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has asked Ed Woodward to land Perisic but Spalletti does not want to lose the Croatia international.

Chelsea manager Conte admitted earlier this week that he is a big fan of Candreva.

He said: “It’s not correct to speak about the player of the other team.

“I know that this period is in the period of the transfer market.

“Candreva is Inter’s player and I have great respect for him, for his team and also for my players.”
