Manchester United have ended negotiations with Inter Milan for Ivan Perisic.

That is according to the Serie A club's manager Luciano Spalletti, who is against selling the winger.

Starsport understand United had been in talks with Inter for Perisic since the end of last season.

And Spalletti told Italian broadcaster Premium Sport: "There was a contact a few weeks ago, then the negotiation stopped, so for me it is closed.

"The more days that pass, the more difficult it becomes for us to find a replacement of his calibre.

"I'll strongly oppose his sale."

Chelsea could wreck United's hopes of swooping for Perisic.

According to CalcioMercato, Inter Milan are willing to sell Blues target Antonio Candreva in a bid to keep Perisic on their books.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has targeted a move for Italy international Candreva.

It's claimed an offer worth around £17.9m could be enough to convince Inter to sell.

As well as boosting their hopes of keeping Perisic, Inter boss Luciano Spalletti is reportedly not a fan of Candreva.

Devonte Remond has joined Scunthorpe United on loan.

The midfielder will spend the season on loan with the League One club.

Redmond told ScunthorpeUnited.co.uk: "I'm happy to sign and can't wait to get going.

"I've been at United for a long time and I think now is the right time to come out and try to make a name for myself in the game and help Scunthorpe towards their aspirations this season.

"It's a good, ambitious club and a good league, so I want to test myself.

"I'm really looking forward to it."
