Chelsea are willing to cut a deal with Juventus for Manchester United target Nemanja Matic

Matic - who played a central role in last season’s Premier League title triumph - is out of Antonio Conte’s plans at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco.

Jose Mourinho fancies raiding his old club for the midfielder after failing with a series of bids for Tottenham star Eric Dier.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly given Matic his blessing to move to Old Trafford - but only if they cough up £50m.

But the Blues are prepared to accept a lower fee from Juventus so they don’t strengthen a direct rival.

And, according to CalcioMercato, they are offering the Italian champions a ‘priority channel’ to land Matic.

Conte left Matic at home for the team’s pre-season tour of Asia.

He has been working on his fitness along with Eden Hazard, who miss out on the trip due to injury.

Explaining the snub, Conte said: “The coach must be in total control of the dressing room otherwise there is anarchy.”

Matic, who re-signed for Chelsea during Mourinho’s second spell at the club in 2014, has entered the final two years of his contract.

He has made 154 appearances in all competitions since returning to the club.
