Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign Ivan Perisic ahead of Gareth Bale.
Manchester United have been linked with moves for the Inter Milan and Real Madrid stars.
But Spanish transfer outlet Don Balon say Mourinho wants Perisic, 28, to be his fourth summer signing.
They reckon the Special One has temporarily ended his interest in Real star Bale in hope of landing Croatia winger Perisic.
Inter are demanding £46m for their star man but the Red Devils want to pay significantly less.
United are set to sign Paris St-Germain star Serge Aurier.
That's according to The Independent’s Miguel Delaney.
The Red Devils have been linked with the Ivory Coast defender as Mourinho looks to overhaul his squad at Old Trafford.
And Delaney says Aurier is heading to United in a £25m deal.
Delaney was asked on Twitter: "Any truth in this Aurier to Man Utd rumour Miguel? Lots of facts about the deal out there…"
To which he replied: "Yeah. it's true, should happen pending Visa issues, 25m."
United tried to sign Monaco star Fabinho this summer before landing Nemanja Matic, according to journalist Adam Joseph.
The Red Devils signed Chelsea ace Matic in a £40m deal yesterday, with Mourinho a big admirer of the Serbia international.
However, Joseph says United wanted Brazil international Fabinho but Monaco made the deal difficult.
He tweeted: "Various sources confirming that Manchester United were in fact pushing to sign Fabinho but Monaco made a deal very difficult. MUFC moved on."
