At least that’s what Turkish football expert Emre Sarigul has claimed on Twitter as speculation about a potential switch mounts.

Fellaini, 29, has experienced mixed fortunes since arriving at Old Trafford four years ago in a £27.5m deal from Everton.

But he’s found a role for himself under Jose Mourinho and the United gaffer claimed on Sunday: "It's easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane. He is too important to me. No chance."

However, talk of a move to Turkey has since continued and Sarigul reckons Fellaini is certain to soon quit the Red Devils.

Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini has just 12 months left to run on his current deal

He tweeted: "Just to clear things up. [Badou] N'Diaye's transfer does not mean Galatasaray are no longer in for Fellaini.

"Galatasaray have agreed personal terms with Fellaini. His representatives are well aware his days at Man Utd are numbered. Talks ongoing.

"Fellaini has under 12 months on the table. Galatasaray have made him an offer he probably won't see again from a club in Europe.

Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini has been heavily linked with a move to Turkey

"If Fellaini is so important to #MUFC where is his new contract? His agent is looking to the future. Galatasaray will talk with Man Utd."

Despite Mourinho’s suggestion that Fellaini is crucial to his plans, the Belgian faces seeing his game time limited by Nemanja Matic’s move to Manchester.

United signed the 29-year-old yesterday from Chelsea for £40m.
