But he arrived back in the capital this morning having been given an extended break by Arsene Wenger after taking part in the Confederations Cup.
His return to north London was delayed while he recovered from an illness.
But he’s wasted no time in getting back in training with the Gunners today.
The 28-year-old superstar spent time away from the rest of his team-mates as he built up his fitness with Arsenal coach Barry Solan.
