Starsport understands United are poised to launch a £90m offer for Bale.

The Welshman moved to Real from Tottenham for £85m in 2013.

The then-world record fee has since been smashed by United's £89m deal for Paul Pogba last summer and PSG getting Neymar from Barcelona yesterday for £198m (€222m).

It's claimed by Spanish outlet Marca that Real are ready to cut Bale loose.

That's because a deal for Monaco star Kylian Mbappe is edging closer.

Real are confident they will get the 18-year-old French striker.

And boss Zindine Zidane is said to want one of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Bale off the books if Mbappe signs.

Bale is the most likely departure of the trio, according to the report.

Marca claim United have been sounded out about Bale.

A fee of €100m (£90m) fee is mooted for the ex-Spurs and Southampton man.

Chelsea are also said to be sniffing around the 28-year-old.

The Welshman is settled at Madrid, but according to Marca is starting to come round to the idea of heading back to the Premier League.
