Transfer News LIVE: Deals, gossip and rumours as they break throughout the day.

Thursday, August 10

4.00am: Newcastle have snapped up Kenedy on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Kenedy hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons earlier this summer after posting an offensive video on social media during Chelsea's pre-season tour of China.

The Brazil U20 international was swiflty sent home and Chelsea were forced to apologise for his behaviour.

And The Mirror claim Kenedy will not be playing at Stamford Bridge this season, with Newcastle moving in to offer him first-team action.

2.00am: Manchester United have opened talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic over offering him a new contract at Old Trafford.

Ibrahimovic was released by United at the end of last season after suffering a serious knee injury that is likely to keep him out of action until the new year.

But United are prepared to bring him back, according to the Daily Mail, and the 35-year-old is keen on a return.

12.50am: Danny Rose has given an explosive interview in which he demands Tottenham to make more signings and also states his intention to move up north, although stops short of saying he wants to quit.

Rose has been out injured for the past six months but clearly has had time to think about his future and hints in order to achieve his dream of winning more trophies, he will have to return back up north.

“Time is running out and I do want to win trophies," Rose told The Sun. "I don’t want to play football for 15 years and not have one trophy or one medal.

“Sorry, that’s not what I am about. I wouldn’t be happy with that. I want to win something.

“I will say this too — I will play up north. I don’t know exactly when, but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere."

12.05am: Liverpool have been told to make a bid for Diego Costa should Philippe Coutinho leave to join Barcleona.

The Reds rejected a £90m from Barcelona for the Brazil international last night but reports in Spain suggest a deal is close to being completed.

But former Manchester United star Phil Neville believes Liverpool would have a better chance of winning the title if they decide to sell Coutinho and buy someone like Diego Costa.

"I think if they got £100m, reinvested and say bought Diego Costa or someone like that," Neville said.

"That would give them a better chance of winning the league than probably having Coutinho in the side."

Wednesday, August 9

10.10pm: Liverpool have snubbed a £90m bid for Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.

The Kop rejected the offer out of hand, insisting that the Brazilian will not leave this summer.

This second bid saw a large increase on their £72m opening proposal.

Jurgen Klopp has been adamant about his position all summer and it appears Coutinho will have to take action if he wants to leave.

Reports claim he has asked to leave, but he is not thought to want to go to war with the club.

9.50pm: Chelsea could sign Joao Cancelo within the next few hours.

Antonio Conte wants to spend this summer with Champions League football returning to Stamford Bridge next season.

The Italian wants to add another wing-back to his ranks before the end of the transfer window.

And Spanish transfer outlet Don Balon say Valencia defender Cancelo is heading to the Blues this summer.

They reckon the 23-year-old Portugal international could move to Stamford Bridge within the next few hours.

8.55pm: Antonio Conte has told Chelsea to make a move for Barcelona star Sergi Roberto.

The Blues boss wants new recruits after selling Nemanja Matic to Manchester United and losing the Community Shield to Arsenal.

And Spanish outlet Sport claim Conte has instructed Chelsea to make contact with Barca over Roberto.

Chiefs at the club would apparently prefer to be cautious after spending big on Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata this summer.

But Chelsea could follow through on Conte’s request if the Blues start the Premier League season slowly.

8pm: Reports in France claim Paris St-Germain are now favourites to sign Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe.

Despite the £200m signing of Neymar, PSG are reportedly set to shell out another £100m plus on the France striker.

Real Madrid were though to be leading the race for the forward.

7.35pm: Ross Barkley will end up signing for Chelsea this summer, according to Steve Nicol.

“Yes I do (think Chelsea will gamble on Barkley),” he said on ESPN FC.

“I think this is the one that makes more sense to me.

“Ross Barkley at Everton had more than ample opportunity of playing time to show everybody what he’s got. I don’t think he can sustain a full season.

"Chelsea are trying to fill out their squad with quality, they guy has got ability.

“Maybe we will see it more if he plays with so-called better players at Chelsea.

“I think this makes sense for Barkley, it certainly makes sense for Chelsea. This one’s a hit for me.”

6.50pm: Several years ago Manchester United ended their interest in Isco because a club scout said the player’s head was too big for his body.

ESPN claim the report dates back to Sir Alex Ferguson’s time at Old Trafford.

Isco was then at Malaga, where he caught the eye of United’s Spanish scout.

But the final report on the ace said: “He’s good but not quite quick enough and his head is too big for his body.”

6.20pm: Arsenal and Liverpool have made bids for Real Madrid ace Marco Asensio.

The 21-year-old started just 11 La Liga matches as Real lifted the title ahead of Barcelona.

And Spanish outlet Diario Gol say the winger is attracting a lot of attention from major clubs in Europe.

They claim Liverpool, Arsenal and Juventus have all made bids for Asensio.

The reports reckon Asensio wants to stay at the Bernabeu but will consider leaving if Zidane cannot guarantee him regular game time.

5.45pm: Liverpool want Manuel Lanzini to replace Philippe Coutinho if he leaves the club.

"Now if [Coutinho] was to go, one name mentioned is Manuel Lanzini at West Ham," Kaveh Solhekol said on Sky Sports.

"He had a very impressive season as a No 10 after Dimitri Payet left in January.”

5.15pm: Virgil van Dijk will not move to Chelsea this summer, according to Steve Nicol.

“For him I think it would be a great move, again I’m not so sure Chelsea are desperate because you’ve got (Gary) Cahill, you’ve got (David) Luiz,” he said on ESPN FC.

“They have choices at centre-back, particularly if they play three.

“It’s a great move for him, I’m not so sure Chelsea will go and spend that sort of money on him.

“It’s going to be upwards of £50m no question.

“I think this is a miss, I don’t see him going to Chelsea.”

4.25pm: Watford DONE DEAL

Watford have completed the signing of Andre Gray from Burnley for a fee of £18.5m.

He has signed a five-year deal at Vicarage Road.

Gray found the net 33 times during two seasons with the Clarets, including nine goals in the top-flight last time out.

4pm: Chelsea are favourites to land Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, the bookies say.

BetStars spokesman Ian Marmion said: “Chelsea are strong favourites, at 6/4, to take Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain away from Arsenal and offer him Champions League football.

“Despite the arrivals of Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reported to be frustrated at the lack of business completed by the Blues as they seek to defend their Premier League title.

“The champions aren’t the only side interested in recruiting the Ox, but are firmly poised ahead of Liverpool at 6/1 and Stoke City at 10/1.

“Manchester City’s interest in the player has cooled and they have drifted to 25/1, but may revisit if they cannot complete a deal for top target Alexis Sanchez.”

3.15pm: Watford have reportedly agreed an £18.5m fee with Burnley to sign forward Andre Gray.

The Clarets previously rejected two bids for the Englishman, who is in the final year of his contract at Turf Moor.

According to Sky Sports, Gray turned down a new deal that would have made him the highest paid player in Burnley's history.

And he's now set to head south to Vicarage Road.

2.45pm: Liverpool will let Emre Can leave for Juventus if they sign Barcelona star Andre Gomes.

At least that’s what the 23-year-old Germany international thinks, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to go into the new season without Can signing a new deal in the hope they can convince him to do so.

However, Tuttosport suggest the potential arrival of Gomes as part of an agreement for Philippe Coutinho could change things.

2.15pm: Real Madrid WILL sign David de Gea from Manchester United in the next few years.

That’s the verdict of pundit Steve McManaman.

"Madrid covet him highly don't they and they want him," he on BT Sport. "They'll end up taking him off Man United, whether it's next year, the year after.

“They will take him in the end, definitely, they will definitely take him."

1.30pm: Chelsea are still targeting Juventus star Alex Sandro.

That’s according to Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini, who claims the Premier League champions are only willing to pay £40m for the 26-year-old.

"Chelsea have not given up Alex Sandro, but the English club will not go beyond an offer already rejected by the Bianconeri of €40m (£36m),” he said on Tutto Mercato Web Radio.

1pm: Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol says there's been no talks between West Ham and Liverpool for Manuel Lanzini.

"And the message from West Ham is loud and clear - Lanzini is not for sale."

11.40am: Liverpool transfer target Virgil Van Dijk would be perfect for Arsenal.

At least that’s the verdict of former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell as speculation around the Southampton star’s future rumbles on.

On Twitter, he wrote: “Arsenal need 3 or 4 Top Class players to really challenge for the Title.

“Top Class Defender and Central Midfielder especially!!!”

And when an Arsenal fan suggested Van Dijk, he replied: “VVD would fit the bill 100%!"

11.10am: Barcelona are so confident of signing Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho that they are already planning for his unveiling at the Nou Camp.

BT Sport reporter Andy May claims he’s been sent an email regarding Coutinho’s unveiling in Spain later this week.

He wrote on Twitter: “Already getting emails from Barcelona offering television coverage of @Phil_Coutinho Barca presentation this Friday #keen.”

10.40am: Manchester United could sign Serge Aurier for just £16m this summer - but face competition for his signature.

United have been heavily linked with the 24-year-old full-back as have Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Italian outlet Transfermarketweb claim that Inter Milan are now also keen on the Ivory Coast international.

And Aurier's potential suitors have been handed a boost with the reports claiming he could be available for just £16m.

10.10am: Liverpool are interested in Bayern Munich star Arturo Vidal.

Stunning reports from World Football Index claim Bayern midfielder Vidal is on Klopp's radar.

It is said sources in Chile have told the publication that Vidal is being earmarked as an alternative to Keita with Klopp becoming 'more restless' amid his club's transfer struggles.

9.25am: Manchester United will not able to sign Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic at the last minute.

At least that’s the verdict of Rai Sport journalist Marco Civoli, who spoke out in an interview with Tutto Mercato Web Radio.

“It is necessary to analyse the Perisic question, because such a player can not be sold on 31 August."

8.45am: Manchester United did make an offer to Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos.

At least that’s what the Spain international claimed yesterday in the build-up to the European heavyweight's UEFA Super Cup clash in Skopje.

He said: “It’s true in the past there was a chance of signing for Manchester United.

“I want to thank them for that offer because I consider them a real club.”

8.30am: Antonio Conte says he needs new signings for Chelsea to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

"My club knows very well our priorities and I hope to improve our squad, to improve our quality and to then be ready to fight for this season," he told Sky Sports.

When pressed if it would be hard to fight for the title without new signings, he said: "Yes, for sure.

"This league is not easy, you have to fight against at least five other teams."

8am: Zlatan Ibrahimovic has held talks with Manchester United over a return to Old Trafford.

2.50am: Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insists there will be no more signings at the Bernabeu this summer.

The Spanish giants have been heavily linked with a big-money move for Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe this summer.

But Madrid president Perez has sensationally claimed there are no plans to sign anymore players this window.

“Signings? I don’t think there will be any more, we already have great players," the Madrid president said.

“Mine and Zidane’s idea after winning the Champions League was to do nothing and keep the team as it was."

1.00am: Antonio Conte has given up on signing Alex Sandro from Juventus and turned his attention to Tottenham's Danny Rose.

That's according to The Sun who claim Chelsea are ready to offer £40m for the full-back.

Tuesday, August 8

11.15pm: Chelsea have reportedly made a £25m bid to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal.

The 23-year-old is one of several Arsenal players out of contract in under 12 months, however Arsene Wenger insisted last month he was confident Oxlade-Chamberlain will remain at the Emirates this season.

But the Daily Mail claim Chelsea are ready to test Arsenal's resolve with a £25m as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his squad.

"I think everyone knows he is going to stay.

9.50pm: Danny Mills is certain Alexis Sanchez will leave Arsenal this summer.

"I think Arsenal might struggle this season, that is in the caveat that I believe Sanchez will go," he said on Sky Sports News.

"He clearly wants to leave, he only wants a year left. Do you keep a really unhappy player?

"Sanchez was pivotal to how sort of successful Arsenal were last season, I know it was their worst season for some time.

"But if you take Sanchez out of that side, they drop down in my opinion to sixth or seventh in the table."

9.15pm: Talks have broken down between Everton and Swansea over a deal for Gylfi Sigurdsson, according to Sky Sports.

A deal is now in jeopardy after more than five weeks of negotiations between the two clubs.

They reverted back to their first offer said to be around £40m.

8.30pm: Paul Scholes has given his verdict on Manchester United signing Nemanja Matic from Chelsea.

He said on BT Sport: “Big signings I think. I really like the Matic signing. That was the one that surprised me a little bit. It made you wonder why did Chelsea sell him?

“He brings aggression to United’s midfield which is something I think they have been lacking.

“I think he’s very similar in a way to Michael Carrick in a controlling midfielder, but what he brings what Michael doesn’t bring is a little bit of aggression which as I say he gets to the ball, he tackles, he allows other people to play.

“I think you saw that with Chelsea last year when Kante were magnificent together last year and that allowed Hazard and Fabregas and whoever else was playing that bit of freedom.

“I’m hoping he’ll do that with United. A bit of freedom for Pogba, for Martial, for Lingard, Martial, Mkhitaryan. These players need to step up this year."

7.50pm: Danny Rose could well make a move to Manchester United this summer, according to the bookies.

BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “Despite Mauricio Pochettino’s desire to keep his young Tottenham side intact, the club’s longest serving player Danny Rose appears likely to follow Kyle Walker out of the exit door this window.

“Manchester United are known to be sniffing around Rose and are priced as favourites 6/4 with BetStars to secure the left-back’s signature.

“Across the city, Manchester City are priced at 10/1 to land Rose after already outlaying £50m on Walker.

“Liverpool still appear to be the frontrunners in the chase and are odds-on at 1/2 to sign the centre-back this summer, with the Saints defender keen to play under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

“However, Antonio Conte is desperate to add depth to his Chelsea squad before the transfer window closes and the Blues are priced at 6/4 to nab Southampton’s star man.

“Arsenal are also in the market to sign a central defender after switching to a back three last season, and are priced at 18/1 to sign the Netherlands international.”

4.45pm: Barcelona have struck a £109m agreement with Liverpool for the signing of Philippe Coutinho.

The news comes on the day reports have claimed the 25-year-old has told Jurgen Klopp he wants to leave Anfield.

4pm: Barcelona are not concerned about losing Sergi Roberto this summer.

Reports yesterday claimed United, Chelsea and Manchester City have all held talks with the 25-year-old.

The club want the Liverpool man on board and in the stands when they take on rivals Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup at the weekend.

Barca bosses are in the UK and will offer €100m (£90m) for the player, Marca report.

12.35pm: Tottenham are braced for a raid from Manchester United for defender Danny Rose.

The Times report United could ramp up their interest in the left-back, but Spurs don't want to lose the England international.

12.15pm: Sergi Roberto is not for sale and Barcelona are not concerned by rumours linking him with the Premier League.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are interested the 25-year-old, and Diario Gol said last week they've all made contact with the player.

But ESPN say the Premier League trio will fail in any attempts to lure the Spaniard away from the Nou Camp.

It is said that Barca believe no club would pay Roberto’s £36m buyout clause and they have no intentions of letting him leave following Neymar’s exit.
