Manchester United are odds-on to sign Serge Aurier

Ivory Coast international Aurier looks set to be ditched by Paris St-Germain following the capture of Dani Alves from Juventus.

United boss Jose Mourinho fancies bringing him to Old Trafford as competition for Antonio Valencia.

Starsport understand Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is also interested in snapping him up.

Conte has a threadbare squad and is desperate to bolster his defensive options ahead of a return to the Champions League.

But Betway believe Aurier is set to disappoint Chelsea by moving to United before the transfer window slams shut.

Betway spokesman Alan Alger said: “Chelsea look set to lose out on another transfer target to Manchester United.

“Serge Aurier, rumoured to have been on the Blues’ shopping list for some time, is 2/1 to move to Stamford Bridge but a well-backed 8/11 to end up at United with the likes of Romelu Lukaku by the end of the summer window.

“Aurier is 3/1 to remain at PSG, which looks unlikely given the club are expected to try and claw back some cash after splashing out on Neymar.”

Aurier, 24, is currently banned from entering the United Kingdom.

He was found guilty of assaulting a police officer outside a nightclub in Paris last year and was subsequently denied entry to the UK for PSG’s Champions League clash with Arsenal.

Aurier’s appeal against his two month suspended sentence is currently being processed by courts in France, with the result expected this week.
