Iceland ace Sigurdsson is on the sidelines at the Liberty Stadium as the Welsh side continue to demand a £50m fee from Everton for their star man.
The 27-year-old will miss Swansea’s Premier League opener at Southampton on Saturday, leaving head coach Paul Clement without his deadly set-pieces.
Sigurdsson notched 13 assists last season, but midfielder Carroll can be a more than adequate replacement, according to team-mate Leroy Fer.
He said: “Tom is very good and he has got some excellent deliveries from his left foot.
“He is different to Gylfi, but he is a player that can provide good free-kicks and corners too. He is excellent at set-pieces.
“Gylfi is a miss, but we have to carry on and Tom has got very good quality.”
Sigurdsson’s move to Everton is yet to be finalised, but it remains only a matter of time before he moves to Goodison Park.
Fer insists the saga hasn’t impacted on Swansea’s pre-season preparations after wins over Birmingham and Sampdoria in the last fortnight.
He said: “We have to put it out of our minds. Gylfi is training with us, but as a group we have to leave the situation for others to solve.
“We have to focus on playing and training well for the club.”
