An agreement for Sigurdsson happens on the same day Gareth Barry departed for West Brom.

The 27-year-old has not featured for Swansea as negotiations with Everton have continued.

Sigurdsson will now hope to wrap up his move quickly and feature for Everton on Monday when they take on Manchester City.

The midfielder scored nine goals and provided 13 assists last season to help Swansea beat the drop.

Sigurdsson will join Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaassen, Sandro Ramirez, Michael Keane, Wayne Rooney and Cuco Martina as new signings at Goodison Park.
