Arsenal are ready to let Jack Wilshere leave this month

The Championship club have already landed former Chelsea captain John Terry this summer.

And Steve Bruce is now ready to follow that up with another audacious swoop.

Wilshere has returned from injury and is back in match action, having played for Arsenal's Under-23s.

However, the club intend to shift the England international on this summer with less than 12 months remaining on his contract.

The Gunners could face seeing Wilshere leave for free next year if he is not sold before the end of August.

And Villa are looking to take advantage, according to the Daily Mail.

The Midlands side are interested in landing 25-year-old Wilshere, who is desperate to finally put his injury problems behind him.

A productive spell on loan at Bournemouth last season was tarnished by a fractured leg suffered in April.

Having spent the summer recovering, Wilshere featured for Arsenal's Under-23s against Derby on Monday night.

The midfielder is still short of match fitness, but Bruce may offer him the chance to rebuild his career at Villa Park.

Villa have picked up just one point from their opening three Championship games and could use Wilshere's quality in their promotion push.

Newcastle, Juventus and West Ham have all been linked with Wilshere too this summer.

However, he is running out of time to secure a move away, with just over two weeks remaining in the window.

Villa lost 2-1 at Reading last night and Bruce will be desperate to get a creative force in his side before the end of the month.
