The left-back is working is way back form long-term injury after damaging ligaments against Swansea at Old Trafford last April.

It was the latest injury setback for the promising player after he suffered a horrendous double leg break in September 2015 in a Champions League match.

The 22-year-old is now hoping to make his return to first-team football this season.

And he made a significant step forward after playing for an hour in Man Utd reserves' 1-1 draw with Swansea last night.

Speaking to MUTV after the match, he promised to work hard to get back to full fitness.

He said: “I feel very good. Hopefully I can push on now and keep myself fit and get stronger and stronger.

“I’m going to be ready. Whenever that is I’ll be looking forward to it.”

The match also saw the return of fellow long-term injury sufferer Ashley Young.

Kenji Gorre opened the scoring for Swansea before Indy Boonen grabbed United’s equaliser with 11 minutes remaining.
