Goretzka made 39 appearances for Schalke in all competitions last season, receiving rave reviews in the process.

And it seems the 22-year-old has attracted a queue of admirers - namely Barcelona, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Juventus.

According to Transfer Market Web, Barcelona have made a move to get Goretzka on-board ahead of deadline day.

They claim Nou Camp chiefs Robert Fernandez and Josep Boada have flown to Germany from Catalunya.

And they’re there with the intention of opening talks with Schalke regarding Goretzka.

Transfer Market Web suggest a fee of around £32m (€35m) would be enough to convince Schalke to sell.

News of Barcelona’s swoop may come as a blow to Arsene Wenger, who’s said to be tracking Goretzka.

And a four-way battle for his signature may ensue with Bayern and Juventus keeping tabs on him too.
