Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is holding out for a move to Liverpool after snubbing Chelsea

The Reds have made a move for the winger, who has snubbed a move to Chelsea.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is keen to link up with Jurgen Klopp at Anfield and is waiting for them to return with an improved offer.

His desire to join Liverpool is down to being played in a central midfield role.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte would instead intend to play the 24-year-old at wing-back.

But according to the London Evening Standard, Oxlade-Chamberlain has been denied the chance to move to Liverpool for now.

Liverpool are seeking to tie up a deal for less than the £40m fee Arsenal agreed with Chelsea.

With the England international clearly preferring a move to Anfield, the Reds are hopeful of signing him.

Arsenal are apparently open to keeping the player if Liverpool do not meet their valuation, despite the fact Oxlade-Chamberlain will not sign a new contract.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool will land their man before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline.

But Chelsea remain in the hunt too, despite the initial rejection from Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The London Evening Standard add Chelsea are still in dialogue with the Arsenal star.

As a result, all outcomes are still possible at this stage.
