Fernando Llorente: Swansea star should snub Chelsea and Spurs for Arsenal - Alan Smith

That's what ex-Gunners star Alan Smith wants anyway!

The former striker wants Llorente at the Emirates, but the Swansea ace is set to chose between Chelsea and Spurs instead.

Starsport understand Tottenham have had a £15m bid accepted and a deal could go through before 11pm tonight, but Chelsea are also in the hunt.

Smith was quizzed on the transfer saga on Sky Sports News this morning.

He said: "That’s a nice one to open up with isn’t it.

“Neither! I’d choose Arsenal.

“I suppose it all depends on the conversations they have with the respective managers.

“At both clubs you would imagine he would be there as a No 2 in case of injury to (Alvaro) Morata at Chelsea or Harry Kane at Spurs. I don’t know.

“You’re joining the champions aren’t you at Chelsea.

“Obviously Tottenham have their concerns at Wembley. Will it be that type of treading water type of season?

“But (Mauricio) Pochettino is a player that most players want to play for.

“I’m not saying Conte isn’t. It’s a close call. It will probably come down to money in the end.”

Starsport have been told Llorente would prefer to sign for Spurs but Chelsea are offering better wages.
