Manchester City have ended their interest in West Brom defender Jonny Evans

City were reportedly keen on a deal to bring Evans to The Etihad this summer.

But any move for the former Manchester United man was highly dependent on Elaquim Mangala being shown the exit door first.

Crystal Palace were believed to be pushing for a deal for the Frenchman, however that has now fallen through following their £26m purchase of Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho.

Sakho is already in London ahead of his medical at Selhurst Park tonight.

And Mangala's now probable stay means Pep Guardiola has ended his efforts to sign Evans before the transfer window slams shut tonight.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is still very much on City's radar, however.

The Gunners have reportedly rejected a bid worth £50m today, but it is believed Sanchez has already revealed to Chile teammates he will be joining Guardiola's men before the deadline.
