Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain snubbed Chelsea due to Antonio Conte

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain snubbed Chelsea due to Antonio Conte’s plan to play him as a wing-back.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, 24, rejected a new Arsenal deal worth £180,000-a-week and told the Gunners he would not sign a new contract at the Emirates.

Chelsea and Liverpool were in the hunt for the England international.

The Blues agreed a fee for the midfielder, only for Oxlade-Chamberlain to reject a Stamford Bridge move this summer.

The former Southampton ace instead opted for Liverpool and signed a five-year deal with the Reds on deadline day.

And the Daily Telegraph say Oxlade-Chamberlain snubbed Chelsea because he felt Antonio Conte only wanted to play him as a right-wing back.

They reckon Oxlade-Chamberlain also thought Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was the best man for his development.

Riyad Mahrez hopes to leave Leicester in January.

The Foxes star handed in a transfer request in hope of forcing through a move this summer.

However, the Algeria international didn’t get his switch and the winger is still at the King Power Stadium.

And the Daily Mail say the 26-year-old is eyeing a January departure.

They say Mahrez is aware Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham will only do business in January if he shows the same form from when Leicester won the Premier League.

Diego Costa has been left out of the Blues' Champions League squad.

That’s according to journalist Duncan Castles.

Costa, 28, has gone AWOL and is refusing to return to Chelsea after Conte told the striker he was no long in his plans.

And Castles says the Spain international isn’t in the Blue’s Champions League squad this season.

He tweeted: "Am told that Diego Costa has been excluded from Chelsea's Champions League squad."
