Mourinho was drafted into Team Shearer’s team as a goalkeeper for the match – which was aiming to raise funds for those affected by the Grenfell Tower disaster.

He made an immediate impact after coming on from the bench and even scored a penalty during the shoot-out.

Following the clash, Mourinho appeared in the studio alongside Mo Farah – who also played.

He was seen tapping the leg of the long distance legend’s leg, before saying: “I did to you Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher did.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”

Cue rapturous laughter from everyone inside the studio.

And the moment also proved a massive hit with fans watching.

“Jose Mourinho just tried to do the Jamie Carragher/Thierry Henry knee touch with Mo Farah. What wonderful TV,” one commented.

Another wrote: “Mourinho is just too funny.”

While a third added: “Mourinho is simply a legend.”

The ex-Chelsea boss also caused comedy gold before the match, when Alan Shearer made a hilarious joke in the dressing room.
