The 21-year-old midfielder joined the La Liga giants on a season-long loan last week.

The Spanish outfit posted Pereira’s arrival video and unveiled his squad number on Twitter last night.

He said: “Hi to all the fans of Valencia, I’m here already, I can’t wait to start working. Amunt Valencia!”

Pereira spent last year with relegated Granada.

He made 35 appearances, scoring five goals, as the Andalusian outfit ended the season managed by Tony Adams and rock bottom of the table.

Pereira will be hoping to add to his first-team experience at Valencia, where he'll play alongside former Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista.

He was unlikely to get much match action under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford this term.

Juan Mata, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba are ahead of the 21-year-old in the playmaker pecking order at United.

And since joining the Red Devils from PSV Eindhoven back in 2011 he's featured in just five Premier League games.

However, prior to his departure back to Spain he penned a new United contract until 2019.

Old Trafford chiefs have the option to extend his deal for a further season.

Pereira said: "I am delighted that I have extended my contract with this great club.

“The manager is building a great team here and I want to be part of that as soon as possible.

“I am going to continue my development at Valencia this season in the hope that I will get plenty of minutes on the pitch.

“I would like to thank the manager for his help and guidance and for the faith he has shown in me.”
