Manchester City are unlikely to spend more than £20m on Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez in January.

The Chile international was denied a move to the Etihad on deadline day following the Gunners’ failure to land Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.

Sanchez has no intention of signing a new deal in north London and will look to complete a move to City either in the winter or when his contract expires next summer.

According to The Sun, Arsenal now risk losing their superstar for just £20m in January - a faction of the amount City offered for him last month.

France midfielder Blaise Matuidi ignored a summer move to Arsenal in favour of joining Juventus.

The 30-year-old left Paris St-Germain for Juve for just £18m last month, signing a three-year contract in Turin.

France Footballclaim Matuidi had several Premier League suitors to choose from before he headed to Italy.

It is said Arsenal and both Manchester giants wanted him but he decided against a move to England.

Arsenal star Hector Bellerin wanted to quit the Emirates this summer, BBC journalist David Ornstein has claimed.

Ornstein said: "Arsenal encountered problems with some of those they did not want to lose [in the summer].

“For example, Hector Bellerin returned from the U21 Euros to tell Wenger he wanted to leave amid interest from Barcelona.

"[Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain rejected a new deal and eventually told Wenger he wanted out.

"No contract talks took place place with [Mesut] Ozil and have not since March and [Alexis] Sanchez also made clear his desire to exit the Emirates."
