Manchester City host Ince’s former club Liverpool in the first game of the Premier League weekend.

Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp’s sides have both been plagued by dodgy defending during their tenures.

But Ince reckons it will be City who come out on top in a five-goal thriller.

“What a way to kick off the weekend,” he told the Express.

“There’s one thing you can be sure of in this game, and that’s goals.

“I think City, especially at home, will have the ever-so-slight edge over Liverpool though.

“Their defence isn't 100%, so they’ll definitely concede, but I just reckon they have a little too much.”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could make his debut for Liverpool.

The England international joined the Reds from Arsenal for £35m on deadline day.

Philippe Coutinho is in contention to make his first appearance of the season.

The Barcelona target overcame a back injury to star for Brazil during the international break.
