Rio Ferdinand says Jose Mourinho’s side have weaknesses that can be exploited

The Red Devils were held to a 2-2 draw at the Bet365 Stadium this evening.

Romeu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford netted for the Red Devils but Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s brace secured Stoke a point.

United have now won three and drawn one of their opening four Premier League games under Jose Mourinho.

However, former Red Devils star Ferdinand says United leave space behind their midfield which can be exploited.

“There’s been great press about Manchester United going forward but they have given up some opportunities,” Ferdinand said on BT Sport.

“I watched them closely against Leicester last time out.

“There are some pockets of space, especially in behind the midfield.

“I think you see here, players get drawn to the ball, three to four Man United players get drawn to the ball.

“That space there, crossing the ball, if Stoke have players coming onto the ball there, or into the area or the six-yard box, they’ll enjoy that.”

Mourinho was unhappy after United's draw at Stoke, with the Red Devils boss claiming Mark Hughes' men were only ever playing for a point.

"No I'm not satisfied with a point because we were the team closer to winning,” he said.

"I have to say it is a result I accept though.

"One team tried to win, one team tried to get the point but they fought hard to get that point - they defended well, they counter-attacked and in set-pieces they are powerful."
