Kevin Kilbane says Hector Bellerin has declined rapidly in recent years

That’s the view of pundit Kevin Kilbane.

Bellerin, 21, has had a rough spell under Arsene Wenger in the last 12 months.

The Frenchman dropped the Spain international after his form dipped last season.

Barcelona were also said to be in for Bellerin, with the La Liga champions desperate to replace Dani Alves at the Nou Camp.

However, the right-back ended up staying in north London.

Bellerin has played every minute of Arsenal’s four Premier League games this season, as the Gunners find themselves in 11th place.

And Kilbane says Bellerin’s decline is worrying, claiming he doesn’t know whether the defender is good enough to get in Arsenal’s starting XI anymore.

“Hector Bellerin has gone from being one of the best right-backs in football to almost now thinking he’s not good enough to get in the Arsenal side,” Kilbane told Irish radio station Newstalk.

“It’s incredible the decline in Bellerin.”

Arsenal have won two and lost two of their opening four Premier League games under Wenger.
