That’s the view of pundit Alan Pardew.

The Blues returned to the prestigious competition last night, beating Qarabag 6-0 at Stamford Bridge in the group stages.

Manchester United also made their Champions League comeback as Jose Mourinho’s men beat Basel 3-0.

However, Pardew reckons Chelsea are looking strong and will progress further than the Red Devils in the competition.

He said on Sky Sports: “Chelsea look as good as last year going into the Champions League in my opinion.

“Morata looks like he will only get better.

“One of the Premier League teams can win it for sure.

“I do look at Real Madrid and when they played Manchester United, and I’ve seen two of United's games this season.

“I thought they were a level above - I still think they’ve got a level to go.”

Chelsea are back in action on Sunday afternoon when the Blues face Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Conte’s men have had an impressive start to the season and the Champions find themselves in third place after four games.
