Sanchez was named on the bench for Arsenal's routine 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday after starting the previous match at Liverpool.

And he looks set to return to the starting line-up for tomorrow's Euro clash with German side Cologne.

Journalist John Cross wrote on Twitter: "Jack Wilshere is training with Arsenal first team and likely to play. What a reception he'll get tomorrow. Sanchez also likely to start."

Seven senior players are likely to be rested for the Europa League tie as Arsene Wenger prepares for Sunday's trip to Chelsea.

Arsenal were hammered 4-0 by Liverpool in their last visit to a major rival at the top of the table, and he'll be desperate to avoid a repeat.

But instead of wrapping Sanchez up in cotton wool, he's set to give the Chilean a run-out from the start.

Petr Cech, Laurent Koscielny, Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil, Danny Welbeck, Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka did not train with the matchday squad despite all being match fit.

Arsenal have not played in this competition since losing the 2000 UEFA Cup final to Galatasaray but it could be seen as a route back to the Champions League.

Manchester United won the Europa League last season to qualify for the Champions League and, with a battle for a top-four Premier League finish likely to be more competitive than ever, Wenger may eventually be tempted to look at the same path.
